The Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Mumbai was established in 1975. It is situated in the southern Mumbai, in the capital of the State of Maharashtra, in India. It is a living monument of friendly relations, which are valued by India and Russia since long. The aim of the Centre- promotion of the Russian Culture through film-shows,dance-recital, musical programmes and conducting literally events. The Centre organises regularly wide spectrum of activities in the fields of culture, science, business, Russian language research programmes and other events.

On 23rd April, a photo-exhibition, dedicated to the 75th birthday of Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman-cosmonaut in the world, was inaugurated at the Nehru Science Centre in Mumbai. On 20th April a gala concert of the Ballet-troupe, the Moscow State Academic Dance Theatre 'Gzhel', dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Russia and India. Mr. S. Mullick, the Chief of the Protocol of the State of Maharashtra, Mr. Sanjay Raut, the Member of Parliament, representatives of the political and business circles, activists from the fields of science and culture of India Heads of the diplomatic missions and compatriots were present at the get-together.
On 14th April, 2012, Mr. V. V. On 9th April, 2012, a ceremonial inauguration of a photo-exhibition, dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations was organised at the Russian Centre for Science & Culture. On 2nd April, 2012, the 'BRICS Festival' was organised in a school in Mumbai. It was organised jointly in assistance with the Russian Centre for Science & Culture in Mumbai and other organisations. It was held to mark the meeting of the leaders of diffrent countries of the 'BRICS' in New Delhi (27th - 28th March, 2012). Each class was given the task to prepare information and a cultural programme about one of the countries of BRICS.
